NORTHEAST OHIO MEDICAL UNIVERSITY - RESEARCH AND GRADUATE EDUCATION BUILDING

Northeast Ohio Medical University (formerly NEOUCOM) broke ground May 16 for a new Medical Research Facility, which is part of $42-million Research and Graduate Education complex on its campus in Rootstown. The building is part of the first phase of a new 20-year master plan.

Slated for a Winter 2012 completion, the four-story, 80,000-square-foot facility will house state-of-the-art laboratories and support rooms for more than 30 research teams in areas which include cardiovascular disease, autism and Alzheimers. Future initiatives include 8,000-square feet of laboratory and office space for companies to collaborate with University researchers in launching or expanding new businesses.

As architect of record, TC Architects is working in collaboration with Cambridge, Massachusetts firm Ellenzweig.
