TC Architects - On the Boards
KOVATCH CASTINGS
TC Architects is providing full architectural and interior design services to this manufacturing client. The project consists of a 16,000 s.f. expansion of the existing facility and renovation of the vacated portions of the building. Two new, energy efficient foundry ovens will replace five of the existing ones, resulting in a substantial reduction in energy costs. A heat recovery system is also being installed to capture heat from the compressors to be used to heat a substantial portion of the plant. A new metals lab, final inspection area, storage, shipping and offices are being added as part of the new construction.
A new conveying system is being installed as part of this project to increase productivity and work flow of the foundry products.
This new expansion and renovation project compliments the work that was previously completed when TC Architects worked with Kovatch Castings to expand their Non- Destructive Laboratory space a few years ago.
