Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority - Southwick Place Renovation
TC Architects and Medina Metropolitan Housing Authority are working on a comprehensive renovation of Southwick Place which is a ten building, fifty unit apartment complex. This project is funded through an Ohio Housing Financing Agency grant.
The renovation is to include site, exterior and interior updates. A few key items for the site are: new concrete walks, patios, porches and stairs at both front and rear entrances of each of the units. The asphalt paving throughout will be replaced and the catch basins, storm sewers and lines will be cleaned, repaired or replaced as needed as well as any of the retaining walls. The site lighting will be replaced with new LED light fixtures.
Some of the building exterior updates are to include new doors and windows, new screen doors, new garage doors, power assist doors at the 2 accessible units, damaged brick and vinyl siding will be repaired or replaced, new asphalt shingle roofs will be installed along with new gutters and downspouts.
One of the two bedroom units will be converted into a sensory unit and the 2 accessible units will be upgraded. Throughout each of the units some of the interior upgrades will include: new vinyl flooring, new interior doors and hardware, new casework, sinks, and accessories for both kitchen and bath. Appliances will be replaced with Energy Star rated appliances.
