TC Architects - Under Construction

EHDOC - ED ROMERO TERRACE

Our client, EHDOC, a national non-profit housing developer and owner, was recently awarded 40 units of senior citizen housing to be located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This funding is part of the Department of Housing and Urban Development 202 Program. It is a highly competitive program that awards a limited number of grants across the country, and this was the only award in the state of New Mexico. TC Architects was part of EHDOC’s development team that put together the award winning application. The design of the building provides 40-one bedroom apartments in a 4 story structure that reflects the design influence of the southwest and adobe design context. The building and all of the apartments will be designed to be visitable and five percent of the units will be designed to be fully accessible. The first floor of the building isdesigned to provide various opportunities for social interaction and resident services. This area will have a lobby, mail area, lounge, office, library, health and wellness center, and community room. The site planning positions the building to front on Central Avenue (US Rt. 66), the primary east / west route through Albuquerque, acknowledging its urban location and the urban pattern of development taking place in this area. TC Architects is proud to be a part of the EHDOC team and their initial senior citizen development in New Mexico, the first of many to come.
